Prayer

Prayer is the word we use for communication with God. We can communicate in many ways and for a number of purposes. The main difference when talking to God is that He made us and He knows us and He loves us completely. It can sometimes be very intimate communication.

St Mary's and the Benefice offer many opportunities for prayer.  We pray in our services on Sunday and we have a talented team of people who prepare the specific prayers for Sunday. Tuesday at 9am, we have Holy Communion in the church.

If you have a special need you can ask someone from the Prayer Warriors to ask that team to pray for you or leave a card with your prayer request in the Lady Chapel. The Lady Chapel is a special place of prayer in the church and gives you an opportunity to light a candle, pray quietly, or say one of the prayers provided.

If you have any questions about prayer contact the Benefice office.

Prayer Warriors (Benefice wide)

Over Lent 2006 members of the Churches of the Vale meet to study Bishop Tim's Shaped by God Document. As we grew together we realised our desire and need to pray for each other and the wider church and indeed the world. So I gathered e-mail addresses and phone numbers and started the Prayer Warriors. If you have e-mail and would like to be a part of this prayer ministry contact Glenda Gibson.

First Fridays Prayer

On the first Friday of each month at 9am in the Lady Chapel a few people meet for prayer, including prayers for healing and the community.  You are very welcome to join us.
